Portfolio Building & Collaborations
For portfolio building and collaborations I've created a process that I feel pulls the most out of individuals in the industry. Please carefully read the following:
Collaborations will be a 50/50 effort: Everything from the cost of the shoot (i.e hotel rooms and various permit passes) to the building of ideas, themes, and prosthetic of the shoot will happen on both my end and the models . This allows us to get the that perfect shot. Communication is KEY, please do not hesitate to express concern, excitement, changes or revisions. Its normal and I do it all the time.
Do your research. Whether its scrolling through Pintrest and Instagram or trying new make up tutorials, take the time to prepare for the role. Create a character even! How would they sit, stand, or vibe on location. Test outfits and poses that make you feel amazing! That's what we want to capture. We all have flaws and faults we'd much rather not be photographed, so just like you do with all those beautiful selfies, FIND YOUR ANGLES! This is a full on experience. You'll be seeing your images during production to better find those drop dead moments. You'll see me moving around finding the perfect frames and get a good laugh at it too. This is not a stiff sit and pose for a Christmas card. This is you: in glory, in beauty, in awe.
So how do you get started with this?
Email me! First shoot is always TFP. Lets get to know each other and feel out what styles we want. After that we will discuss rates and split costs that suit various shoots in the future. However, I am always looking for house models. House models are go to people when I get ideas and just have to do them. To be a considered for house model positions its all about vibes and if we work well together. On that note I do from time to time do casting calls for different photo shoots as well.
"Sounds good but what do I really get out of it?"
Great question! Portfolio shoots do not get a time limit or photo limit. As I said before this is a 50/50 process, you get half the photos. That's right. Half. So when I'm done going through my editing process I'll take the number of final images (i.e 50) and split it in half (25). We both have portfolios to build.
Ultimately I hope to use these types of photo shoots to fill submissions for magazines, use on personal sites, and ultimately furthering both my career and yours!
